Assistant VP of Provider Relations Joins EMI Health

New team member brings 25 years of experience to support health insurance provider

SALT LAKE CITY—Nov. 3, 2011—To support the expansion of its medical and dental provider networks in Utah, EMI Health has hired Ben Lewis as assistant vice president of provider relations and network development. Lewis joins EMI Health after more than 25 years with Intermountain Healthcare, bringing with him extensive healthcare expertise.

In this position, Lewis will oversee the provider relations department, manage the associations between contracted providers and EMI Health and establish policies, systems and procedures within the department. Additionally, Lewis has been tasked with developing a strategic plan to create and maintain EMI Health’s medical and dental provider networks.

A Utah native, Lewis studied behavioral science and health at the University of Utah. In his tenure at Intermountain Healthcare, Lewis worked in provider relations at SelectHealth as well as payer contracting.
